SUPER BOWL SUNDAY CHALLENGE!
Here we go....
Super bowl Sunday is a day to hang out, eat, drink, laugh, and have a good time with family and friends, but it’s also the easiest day to fall off the wagon and pack on a few unwanted pounds. I’ve always said its ok to have a cheat day, in moderation of course, but when we go to parties we tend to over indulge 10 fold. Super bowl Sunday is one of those days that we sit in front of the TV, hours on end eating and drinking, not moving and not realizing how much we are actually consuming.
Here are some tips to help you stay on track and yet still enjoy and have a good time.
*Eat a healthy breakfast
*Eat a light lunch before heading over to the party, this way you’re not famished when you get to the party.
*Pack your own veggies if you don’t think the host/hostess wont be providing any.
*Bring a healthy dish
*Use snack plate to serve yourself on. This will help control portion sizes.
*If you’re going to drink alcohol, go for the lite varieties, and drink a glass of water between each drink. So if you have a beer at 3pm and another one at 4pm replace the 4pm beer with a tall glass of water on the rocks (water and ice). Then you can have another drink alternating them. This will keep you feeling full, and will help you save half the calories you would have drank.
*If you need that crunch, ditch the chips and reach for the broccoli, sugar snap peas, carrots, or another crunchy vegetable.
*Stay away from the fried foods or processed pre-made foods like hot wings, pizza bites, jalapeno poppers etc…….
*Sit as far away from the food as possible.
*Move, move, move…make it fun! Here’s a great way to keep moving. You can change this any way you want as long as you keep moving…Make it interesting… Don’t forget to tell me what you did!
****TOUCH DOWN AND GET BUSY: If your team scores a touch down get up and dance, move your arms, hips, get crazy and here’s the best part, if there’s anyone at the party from the opposing team they must copy all your dance moves!!
****FIELD GOAL: 10 squats for you and 15 for the opposing fans.
****HALF TIME CHARADES: Get up and dance for the length of one song or more…come on you know you want to.
****INTERCEPTION: Any time a ball is intercepted you must drop and do 10 push-ups.
****FUMBLE: For every fumble you have to drop on the floor and do 10 sit-ups.
